Ground Handling Categories

The list of ground handling services and links to Nice Côte d'Azur airport ground handlers for non-self-handling third parties is shown below

  • Category 1 : Ground administration and supervision services

    1.1. Representation and liaison with local authorities or any other body, payments on behalf of carriers, and the supply of premises for use by airline representatives

    1.2. Supervision of loading, messages and telecommunications

    1.3. Loading unit processing, storage, handling and administration

    1.4. Any other supervisory service required before, during or after the flight, and any other administrative service requested by the carrier.

  • Category 2 : Passenger handling

    Passenger handling, including all forms of assistance required by passengers departing, arriving, in transit or between connecting flights, and more specifically, inspection of tickets and travel documents, baggage check-in and the conveying of baggage to the airport sorting systems.

  • Category 3 : Bagage handling

    Baggage handling, including the processing of baggage in the sorting area, baggage sorting, baggage preparation for departure, baggage loading and unloading to and from the systems used to transport it from the aircraft to the sorting area, and vice-versa, as well as conveying baggage from the sorting area to the distribution area.

  • Category 4 : Cargo and mail handling

    4.1 Physical handling of cargo for export, for import or in transit, administrative handling of the associated documentation, completion of customs procedures and any other protective measure agreed between the service provider and the carrier or required as a result of circumstances

    4.2 Physical handling of arriving and departing mail, administrative handling of the associated documentation, and any other protective measure agreed between the service provider and the carrier or required as a result of circumstances.

  • Category 5 : Ramp handling

    5.1. Guidance of arriving and departing aircraft (*)

    5.2. Assistance with aircraft parking and the provision of appropriate resources (*)

    5.3. Communication between the aircraft and the airside service provider (*)

    5.4. Loading and unloading of aircraft, including the supply and implementation of appropriate resources, transporting the crew and passengers between the aircraft and the terminal building, and transporting baggage between the aircraft and the terminal building

    5.5. Assisting aircraft startup and providing appropriate resources (*)

    5.6. Moving aircraft before departure and after arrival, and providing and implementing appropriate resources

    5.7. Transporting food and beverages to the aircraft, loading them onto the aircraft and unloading them from the aircraft

    (*) Where these services are not provided by the air traffic control service.

     

  • Category 6 : Aircraft cleaning and servicing

    6.1. Aircraft interior and exterior cleaning, toilet servicing and water supply servicing

    6.2. Cabin air conditioning and heating servicing, removal of snow and ice from the aircraft, and aircraft de-icing

    6.3. Cabin preparation using cabin equipment, and equipment storage

  • Category 10 : Ground transport services

    10.1. The organisation and provision of transport for passengers, crew, baggage, cargo and mail between terminal buildings of the same airport, but excluding any transport between the aircraft and any other point within the perimeter of the same airport
