Know-How

Nice Airport Management (NAMA) is the brand of engineering of Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur Group. The constantly evolving infrastructure, network and organisation of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur have enabled the Group to meet the demands of its customers and to support the strong economic growth of the Côte d’Azur for over 60 years. Described as innovative, responsive and successful as much for the quality of its services as for its financial results, the Group today manages three famous airports: Nice Côte d’Azur, Cannes Mandelieu, and Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Our fields of expertise

From Africa to Asia, from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, NAMA - the development arm of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur - has got around a lot since it was first set up, carrying in its luggage all the know-how of a major European airport company: Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, France’s second largest airport group. We recruit our key strengths - our trainers, consultants and managers - within in own staff. All have accumulated flying hours in their own fields, vital experience that we offer the investors and airport owners and/or managers who are our clients. Our experts follow various routes. As instructors they provide specialist and tailored training courses, sharing with your staff the good practices, skills, tools and information they use themselves every day at one of the Group’s airports on the Côte d’Azur. As co-pilots they work beside you, delivering consultancy services and support for your development projects. And finally they can also manage the airports we hold on a concessionary, co-management or acquisition basis. In all cases, our specialists will help you optimise your performance and raise it to a new level.

Our Tailor made services

Like all airport managers, you are continuously faced with changes in regulations, technological advances, the obsolescence of your facilities, the growth of your business or even new requirements from your clientele.

To respond to each of these challenges, to completely support your development and to promote your performance goals, Nice Airport Management (NAMA) works alongside you in airport technical engineering tasks such as: studies and works monitoring, audits of facilities, equipment or organisations, optimisation of your potential on maintenance activities, technical services, work, etc.

What makes our offer special? It is based entirely on expertise and the experience of the men and women of the Technical Department at Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, the airport operator of reference in Europe. For you, it is the guarantee of a close and effective collaboration. Because they support the daily operation of three platforms with very different profiles and ambitions, and because they contribute to their changes, our teams know about all of your issues and, better still, their solutions. Experience and versatility make all the difference.

Engineering

If our staff can provide a concrete and effective solution to each of your technical needs, it is because they have encountered and resolved the same issues within the Technical Department at Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

The latter oversees and optimises the daily maintenance activities and work of the three airports. In the recent past, it has also carried out projects as diverse as the EASA certification, complete refurbishment of two passenger terminals, creation of a walkway for medium and long-haul flights to accommodate the A380, commissioning of a new generation automated baggage sorting system, renovation of the runways, creation of parking areas and even the implementation of an oil depot. This experience is all the richer as the platforms managed by Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur feature very specific operating constraints such as: a limited surface area, a particularly dense urban environment, seasonal nature of traffic, etc. These characteristics require perfect versatility from our teams, a strong sense of anticipation and unwavering precision

Mesures de glissance

Friction measures

A perfect example of NAMA philosophy: the “Friction measures” offer. It complies with a regulatory obligation. The ICAO, EASA and national authorities require each airport to carry out or have periodically carried out friction tests on its runways to avoid falling below the minimum friction levels provided for in the regulations.

In France, the maximum period between two measures cannot exceed two years. Nevertheless, it is preferable to anticipate the test when the platform records an increase in its traffic, the opening of new routes or the arrival of aircraft of much greater capacity.

These factors can indeed change the friction index rapidly. It is therefore necessary to check that the safety of aircraft and their passengers is not affected. A precautionary measure which is all the more essential as the airport operator is fully committed to its legal responsibilit
